Who is CEC?

The Copperbelt Energy Corporation Plc (CEC) is a Zambian incorporated power generation, transmission, distribution and supply company, owning electricity infrastructure assets worth more than US$500 million with which it services customers in Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), including an international transmission Interconnector between Zambia and DRC. CEC is listed on the Lusaka Securities Exchange (LuSE) and is a full member of the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP). Simply put, the SAPP is a common power market for countries belonging to the Southern African Development Community (SADC), allowing for the trading of electricity among member countries and the development of the power industry in the region. CEC’s listing on the LuSE enables the public to buy and sell shares in the Company. Currently, CEC has more than 6,000 institutional and retail investors. The Company is a pioneer of energy trading in Southern Africa is among the largest international power traders in Zambia and the DRC.
